Dear Nannette and Larry
For some time now I have wanted to share with you our story so here goes.
Back in March of 1998, I, Kaylene was living in England working as an accountant at a college of higher education (actually Newbold College if you have ever heard of it).
I was working too hard and had no time for a social life and getting very depressed about it, so My Mum suggested that I look into some sort of dating service. So I looked on the net and came across your web site and signed up. I wrote on and off to a few guys but nothing much came of it until Richard signed up. I asked if he would like to write to me and he said sure.
Richard's side of the story. He lost his wife of 8 years in November of 1997 to cancer and this left him with a beautiful daughter, 5 years old at the time. After Christmas he started dating around again and in April signed up on your web site. He loves his computer so it gave him something else to do with it. He looked at my profile but decided that I lived too far away.
Anyway, we started writing towards the end of April 1998. By the time May came we were writing everyday and he plucked up the courage to invite me to a singles camp in September. I couldn't make it so he invited me to come out to California in June while I was visiting my brother on the East Coast of America. This I did. His Mom gave him the encouragement to ask me and his Dad predicted that we would get married.
In June I came for 7 days. It was like a dream come true meeting up with him. The sparks flew and after 4 days he proposed and I accepted. Then after 7 days I had to leave him and return to England. People were very sceptical of us because we did everything so fast. He came to visit me in the September, then I spent the month of November out here with him and his daughter Marthita and then December 30, 1998 we were married in England.
Last August 23, 2000 saw the addition of our baby girl Melody. I've attached a picture taken of the four of us last October.
Everyone smiles at our story but they can see the happiness ousing from us. They can't believe that this can happen, but I know of another couple that met on the internet because she had heard of our story. We are extremely grateful to the internet and people like yourselves that take the time to provide this service. Getting married was the best thing that could have happened to me and I met the man of my dreams.
Thank you
Kaylene and Richard.
